Programs Projects

The Bremen Junior Woman's Club encourages community involvement, education and social interaction among its members. We are dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Club woman are encouraged to select a community service program wherein their interest lies. There is something for everyone who becomes a member of the Federation.

The six Community Service Programs include the following areas of work:

*Arts - Members are encouraged to create and contribute to arts education and activities, as well as developing and enjoying creative arts as a method of self -expression.
*Conservation - Members learn about the importance and benefits of beautifying their communities as well as preserving our natural resources.
*Education - Members are encouraged to promote a commitment to lifelong learning, to foster and support their community and to become educated about low literacy rates and concerns.
*Home Life -  Focus is on improving the lives of those in need and educating members on health programs and financial issues.
*International Outreach - Members learn about global topics and are provided opportunities to support and contribute to world issues.
*Public Issues - Members learn about the importance of active citizenship, and encouraged to participate in related activities. This program also focuses on community, home and vehicle safety issues.

ALL ABILITIES PLAYGROUND

This is by far the largest project the club has ever taken on.

The GFWC Bremen Junior Woman’s Club wants to take this opportunity to update the citizens of Bremen, Haralson and Carroll counties on our Magnolia Playground. As many of you know, we have worked for the last four years raising funds to build the playground.   Phase I was completed in May and was celebrated with a ribbon cutting at the Bremen Recreation Complex site.

We truly celebrated the value of community involvement.  This project was not easy to accomplish. However, with the support of our community and being the recipient of several grants, we were able to reach our goal.  And for this, we are most grateful.  We want all of our supporters to know that we could not have done it without them.

More good things are coming as we begin Phase II in the next few weeks. Plans call for us to build a pavilion adjacent to the playground that will provide several picnic tables suited for families to hold birthday parties, cookouts, reunions, etc.

Our members are thrilled with the completion of the first phase and look forward to the final phase being finished this fall.  We invite everyone to come out for a visit and see one of our proudest accomplishments.

For further information on the playground please use our "contact us" page and someone will get back to you.

We are truly grateful for the various donations and grants we receive, in November our club received a $10,000.00 Grant from the Plum Creek Foundation and a few of our members were on hand to accept it.
